MONTROSE, Pa. (AP) — Police say a man has surrendered to face charges in the fatal shooting of his brother in the yard of their northeastern Pennsylvania home.
State troopers from the Gibson barracks say 52-year-old Forest Webster, of Jessup Township, surrendered about 10 a.m. Sunday and was jailed on a count of criminal homicide.
The suspect is charged with fatally shooting 55-year-old John Webster. Police did not immediately provide details of the shooting, including what prompted it, but say the victim was found dead in his family’s yard shortly after his brother surrendered.
Webster was being held without bond Monday in the Susquehanna County Jail. Online court records don’t list an attorney for him.
Police say the shooting remains under investigation.
