ASHLEY: St. Leo’s/Holy Rosary Church, 33 Manhattan St., is holding a corporate communion at the 11 a.m. Mass on Sunday. The Altar and Rosary/St. Ann’s Society and the Holy Name Society will be participating, including the reciting of the rosary at 10:25 a.m. All parishioners are invited.
HUGHESTOWN: St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Rock and Center streets, is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Parishioners and friends are invited to participate in the celebration to be held on Oct. 20 at LaPalazzo, Birney Avenue, Moosic.
A social hour will take place from 12:30-1:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m. Donation is $20 for adults; $6 for children younger than 10; and free for children under five.

KINGSTON: Grace Episcopal Church, 30 Butler St., is celebrating the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi with a blessing of the animals at 10 a.m. on Sunday. People and animals of all faiths are welcome.
All pets will be brought into the church and receive an individual blessing at the Holy Eucharist service. Exotic animals must be caged. Refreshments will be served after the service and each pet will receive a blessed St. Francis medal.

PITTSTON: The 56th annual novena in honor of St. Jude will be held from Oct. 19 to Oct. 28 at Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, St. Mary, Help of Christians Church, 535 N. Main Street.
There will be two services daily. A Mass, followed by novena prayers and veneration of the relic of St. Jude, will be celebrated at noon and 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; noon and 4 p.m. on Saturdays; and 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Sundays. The rosary will be recited and confessions heard prior to all services.
There will be different guest homilists for the novena services. Monsignor John Bendik, pastor of St. John the Evangelist Parish community, Pittston, and dean of the Northern Luzerne Area of the Diocese, will celebrate both the noon and closing liturgy at 7 p.m. on Oct. 28.

WILKES-BARRE: The First Welsh Presbyterian Church, South Meade and East Northampton streets, is hosting its annual Gymanfa Ganu at 3 p.m. on Oct. 13.
Carol Ellis will be the conductor and Jaqueline Lee Legg with be the organist for the event. The National Gymanfa Ganu hymnal will be used for the services.
Everyone is invited to a Te Bach and fellowship hour after the session.
