Pat Hempel

RB – Nanticoke

Hempel rushed 37 times for 243 yards as Nanticoke kept its postseason hopes alive with a 16-7 victory over GAR.

Hempel gave Nanticoke the lead for good, 10-7, with a 15-yard touchdown run with 11:20 left in the fourth quarter. His 28-yard run helped set up a field goal with 2.9 seconds left until halftime.

The 37 carries were a career high for Hempel. The 243 yards were the second-best game for the senior, who rushed for 258 yards against Holy Redeemer earlier in the year. He needs 20 yards against Hanover Area on Friday to reach 1,000 for the first time in his career.
