Lia Kinu Wojtowicz and Alejandro Medrano were united in marriage Oct. 5, 2013, at the Japanese Tea Garden in San Antonio, Texas.

The bride is the daughter of Richard and Lydia Wojtowicz, Mountain Top. She is the granddaughter of Tsutomo Oi and the late Toyono Oi, Honolulu, Hawaii, and the late Edward and Celia Wojtowicz, Wilkes-Barre.

The groom is the son of Elsa Larios and the grandson of Dora Medrano, both of San Antonio, Texas.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The bride’s sister, Nina Wojtowicz, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Janelle Oishi, Denise Oishi and Kelly Larson, friends of the bride.

The groom’s nephew, Anthony Martinez, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mario Chavez, Gilbert Cerda, Bryant Alvarado, J. Pablo Zegarra and Amador Marin, friends of the groom, and Rosendo Gamboa, cousin of the groom.

The couple hosted a rehearsal barbecue at their residence. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Japanese Tea Garden with a performance by Mariachi Los Galleros.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the Pennsylvania State University in 2003 and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2006. She is employed as a marketing specialist by WellMed Medical Management.

The groom served as a combat medic for the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army National Guard. After an honorable discharge, he graduated from Los Angeles County School of Nursing and Allied Health and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is employed as an emergency department registered nurse by the San Antonio Military Medical Center.

The couple honeymooned in Spain and Paris and reside in San Antonio with their three rescue mutts, Benji, Snoopy and Lanikai.
