Literary-arts publication premiered at Osterhout

January 18, 2013

A special premiere of Word Fountain, a literary-arts publication from the Osterhout Free Library, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Reading Room of the library. This issue of Word Fountain is a full-color, special-edition magazine focused on flood-related poetry, short stories and photos commemorating the floods of 1972 and 2011. The pieces were submitted by members of the community. The premiere will feature a reading of select works and will be followed by a discussion. All donations collected will go to the Luzerne Foundation to aid local flood victims. This special edition of Word Fountain was funded by gifts from The Luzerne Foundation and Independent Graphics. Copies will be available at all Osterhout Library locations for a suggested donation of $5. Participants, from left: Rick Miller, executive director, Osterhout Free Library; Rachael Goetzke and Ed Lupico, Osterhout Free Library, editors of Word Fountain; and Charles Barber, president and chief executive officer, The Luzerne Foundation.
