EXETER: The Cosmopolitan Seniors will meet at 1 p.m. today in St. Anthony Center. Dues will be collected. Host and hostesses are Florence Aquilina, Kay Haddock, Frank Onda, Irene Parini and Marge Zinkavich.
At a previous meeting, Sam Messina and Marie Sperazza were welcomed as new members. Fifty-fifty winners were Rosemary Golenski, Maureen Gosart, Joe Kleback, Bernie Petrasek and Helen Zarychta. Zarychta also won the bingo special game. The bingo jackpot winner was Share Dailey.
Reservations are being accepted for a trip to Sands Casino on Feb. 14, with pick ups in Exeter and Pittston. Non-members are welcome on trips. For details call Johanna at 655-2720.
FALLS: The Falls Senior Center, State Route 92, is sponsoring a presentation on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease by Marian Lehman, a nurse from Bayada Home Health Care, at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday. There will be a luncheon nutrition talk on ten tips to help you stretch your food dollars on Thursday.
The Wii bowling team will compete with the Tunkhannock Senior Center at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at the Falls center.
A crocheting class will be given by Marie Dowse from 1-2 p.m. on Monday.
KINGSTON: The Kingston Senior Center, 680 Wyoming Ave., is hosting blood pressure checks by Compassionate Home Care at 10: 30 a.m. today. A presentation on falls risk assessment will be held at 11 a.m.
A special Polish festival lunch will be offered on Thursday and Belly Laugh Day will be celebrated.
Beginning Monday, a bake sale will be held at the center. Members are encouraged to donate items.
HCC Home Health will sponsor a Frosty bingo at 12:45 p.m. on Jan. 30.
PITTSTON: The Pittston Senior Center is collecting membership renewals for 2013 with a donation of $5. Members are also being asked to update current membership status. Call Connie Andrews, center director, at 655-5561.
A mixed bowling league is now forming for Fridays at 1 p.m. beginning on Friday at Elko Bowling Lanes in Dupont. The league will continue for 14 weeks. Cost is $7 per week. The league is open to any senior 60 years of age or older. Experience is not necessary. To register, contact Connie Andrews at 655-5561. A special luncheon will take place at the end of the season.
PLAINS TWP.: Plains Senior Citizens will meet on Wednesday at SS. Peter & Paul School cafeteria, Hudson Road.
Members are reminded to pay their dues to Barbara Silvi. Hosts and hostesses are Mary Gurka, Rose Hayes, Mary Hoinski, Jack Hoover, Margaret Hoover and Mary Horan. They should be at the cafeteria by 11:30 a.m. Food and paper products should be brought for SS. Peter & Paul Food Pantry.
PLYMOUTH: The Senior Citizen's Club of St. Mary's appointed a committee for the Mom and Dad dinner to be held May 13. Appointees are Mary Pietrzykoski, Rosemary Piston, Mary Plytage, Dolores Prutzman and Betty Reese. The 50-50 winners from the last meeting were Dorothy Sullivan, Leona Roskowski and Carol Smith.
The next meeting will on Monday at Holy Child School Building, Willow Street. Servers are Romayne Brown, John and Ann Brunick, Rita Buzinski and Valeria Cackowski.
WILKES-BARRE: The Rainbow Seniors of Wilkes-Barre installed new officers for 2013 at the last meeting Door prizes were won by Stella Fiorucci and Doris Harring.
The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. on Feb. 19 at Albright United Methodist Church, Dana and Grove streets. Servers are Jack and Dorothy Coach.
WILKES-BARRE: The Charles T. Adams Senior Center, 5 E. Market St., is hosting a health and infection program at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
There will be a Super Bowl party and Ground Hog Day contest at noon on Feb. 1. The contest giveaway will be held at 11:45 a.m. on Feb. 4. A Chinese New Year silent auction will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. on Feb. 8 and a Valentine's Day party will be held at noon on Feb. 14.
