Tara Ann Shevock and Gary Patrick Lambert Jr. were united in marriage Sept. 29, 2012, in St. Therese’s Church, Shavertown. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. John C. Lambert, uncle of the groom. A blessing was offered to the couple by the Most Rev. Joseph C. Bambera, D.D., J.C.L., Bishop of Scranton.


The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Shevock, Shavertown. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Janosik, Pringle, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Shevock, Plymouth.


The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Lambert, Wyoming. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John D. McCarthy, Kingston, and Mrs. Kathryn Lambert, Plains Township.


Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose her sister, Laurie Shevock, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Kate Lambert, sister of the groom, and Ashley Blazaskie, Ali Baur, Erin Tanner, Annie Onzik and Sarah Remakus, all friends of the bride. Maddie Olshemski was the flower girl.


The groom chose his brother, Timothy Lambert, as best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Horn and John D. McCarthy lll, cousins of the groom; Joseph Kalafut, cousin of the bride; and Kean Reilly, Donald Houseknecht and Drew McLaughlin, friends of the groom. Liam Upton was the ring bearer.


Scriptural readings were given by Cecilia McCarthy, grandmother of the groom, and John Kalafut, uncle of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Sharon Kalafut and Robert Janosik, godparents of the bride, and Mary Ellen Horn, godmother of the groom. The prayer of the faithful was led by John D. McCarthy Jr., uncle of the groom.


The bride and groom were honored at an engagement party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. John D. McCarthy Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Horn at the Westmoreland Club. The bride was honored at a display shower hosted by the mothers of the bride and groom and the attendants at Fox Hill Country Club. A rehearsal dinner, followed by a firework display, was hosted by the parents of the groom at Huntsville Golf Club. The wedding celebration culminated in an evening reception at the Woodlands Inn and Resort. The ballroom was illuminated in blue and gold with a custom decaled white dance floor. Guests were able to take a break from the dancing and relax in a lounge area with plush couches and chairs. An afterglow party allowed the guests to continue the memorable celebration.


The bride is a 2006 graduate of Bishop O’Reilly High School and a 2010 graduate of King’s College with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in neuroscience. She earned her secondary teaching certification in 2011. Tara is employed as a substitute teacher in area school districts.


The groom is a 2006 graduate of Bishop Hoban High School and a 2010 graduate of King’s College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Gary is employed by McCarthy Tire Service as an operations manager for the Pennsylvania stores.


The couple honeymooned in Hawaii and San Francisco. They reside in Wyoming.
