Thanksgiving holiday inspires local poet

November 23, 2013

What a wonderful day,

To gather one’s family and pray.

Rejoice and eat hearty,

It’s almost like a party.

When our siblings and family gather for a meal,

And talk over good times, one can’t get a better deal.

This is a long-awaited meeting,

To reminisce, enjoy each other’s company - Boy! What a greeting.

The Pilgrims had it rough at this time,

But they endured, and survived life’s climb.

Those people, as well as I, had many memories to recall,

And mostly one should love God, one’s family, it’s a ball.
