GAR goes undefeated at Invitational

FACTORYVILLE — GAR wrestling went 5-0, defeating Blue Ridge, Montrose, Nanticoke, Elk Lake, and Lackawanna Trail in the finals to win the Lackawanna Trail Duals.


AJ Luton earned won his 100th win during the tournament.


Luton (120), Carlos Betances (126), Pedro Chery (160), Zac Faust (220), and Saul Wilkins (285) went undefeated in their five matches to help the Grenadiers win the tournament.


Honesdale 50, Hanover Area 15

John Sheridan won by pin in the 285-pound bout in the Hawkeyes effort on Friday.

Brad Glazenski won by decision in the 120 bout while Anthony Eck won by decision in the 160.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Central Columbia 55, Berwick 37

Tyler Evans led the Bulldogs’ effort with 16 points in the loss to the Blue Jays.

Hanover Area 54, Northwest 36

After only being up 22-17 in the first half, the Hawkeyes scored 32 second half points to defeat the Rangers.

Robery Kerestes led the Hanover Area win with 17 points while Jake Barber contributed 16.

Northwest’s effort was led by 15 points from Charlie Margelevicz.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Crestwood 52, Abington Heights 45

Crestwood’s victory over the Abington Heights was led by Maddie Ritsick’s 24 points.

Rebecca Rutkowski added 10 points to the win.
