Holly Lynn Mattern and Robert Nicholas Tomko Jr. were united in marriage on Oct. 5, 2013, at Our Lady of Hope Parish, Wilkes-Barre, by the Rev. John Terry.
The bride is the daughter of Jill Mattern and the late Steven Mattern, York. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoeffner, Scranton, and the late Betty and Warren James Mattern.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tomko Sr., Dallas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tomko, Wilkes-Barre, and Mrs. Shirley Duffy and the late Thomas Duffy, Lehman.
The bride was given away in marriage by her mother. She chose he sister, Tara Mattern, as maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Carly Tomko, sister of the groom.
The groom chose his closest friend, Rob Santilliana, as his best man. Groomsman was Jack Tomko, brother of the groom. The bride and groom chose Samara Mattern, niece of the bride, as flower girl. Austin Smith and Matthew Bednar, cousins of the bride, were ring bearers.
Scripture readings were given by Jessica Lawrence, friend of the bride, and Nicholas Cerminaro, cousin of the bride. Offertory gifts and gift to the poor were presented by Kara and Kaci Hockenberry, cousins of the groom, and bridesmaid Carly Tomko.
An evening cocktail hour and reception were held at the Genetti Hotel and Conference Center, Wilkes-Barre. The bride was honored at a bridal shower given by both families at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Scranton. The parents of the groom hosted the rehearsal dinner at Bettelli’s Villa, Wilkes-Barre.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of West York High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in history with a certification in secondary education from King’s College in 2010. She is employed at a locally owned company.
The groom is a 2006 graduate from Dallas High School and earned HVACC certification in 2008. He is employed at Martz Trailways.
