Students receive 2017 Wyoming Seminary Alumni Service Awards

Wyoming Seminary seniors Sophia Polgar and James Hughes accepted the 2017 Wyoming Seminary Alumni Service Awards during Sem’s recent Homecoming festivities. Polgar is the daughter of Michele Schasberger and Michael Polgar of Kingston. She is vice president of Student Government’s executive board, serves as a Writing Center tutor, is a regional and state gymnastics medalist and initiated the Wilkes-Barre BBYO Community Garden in 2016. Hughes, son of Hugh Hughes of Kingston and the late Kathryn Hughes, is senior class representative and executive board secretary of Student Government. He leads the Engineering Club and the Philosophical Society, plays tennis, runs cross-country, is an Eagle Scout and volunteers for the American Cancer Society.
