LUZERNE COUNTY — The Apprise Program, sponsored by the Area Agency on Aging, is seeking volunteers to train in assisting area elders.
Volunteer counselors participate in an extensive training program and can assist with presentations at various organizations and health fairs and a variety of other tasks.

LUZERNE/WYOMING COUNTIES — Volunteer Senior Peer Counselors are available to provide one-to-one support and socialization in the homes of those 60 years of age and older experiencing loneliness or minor emotional issues.
Volunteers, 55 and older, who drive and can devote up to three hours a week are needed to visit older adults with mild emotional issues in Luzerne and Wyoming counties.

PLYMOUTH — The Senior Citizens’ Friendship Club of St. Mary’s in Plymouth will have their next meeting at 1 p.m. Dec. 11 in the Holy Child School building on Willow Street, Plymouth. Servers will be Chris and Bill Hurst, Joann Laskoski, Diane Laibinis and Helen Karpovich. At this meeting, new Secret Pals will be chosen for the coming year.
