ALIFT (Assisting Loggers Immediately Fund Trust) recently held their 1st annual sporting clay shoot fundraiser at Rock Mountain Sporting Clays.

Rock Mountain owners Mike and Susan Koneski did a great job in hosting the event on a beautiful fall morning.

ALIFT board members Mark and Connie Ridall did an excellent job organizing the shoot. In addition, they went above and beyond by generously donating the cost of the shells used for the event.

The team from Horlacher & Sherwood took first place out of the 28 participants. Paul Sidorek was the high score with an impressive 93 out of 100 and LuAnn White took honors as highest female shooter.

After the competition, the shooters enjoyed an outstanding BBQ meal prepared and served up by Charlie and Terri Greenley of Penalty Box BBQ.

The event netted over $3,000, and ALIFT has already booked next year’s shoot and anticipates bigger and better results.

The ALIFT board wishes to thank all the participants, the shooting station sign sponsors and those who generously donated prizes for the raffle.

The purpose of the event was to raise money for the ALIFT charitable fund. ALIFT provides financial help to the families of logging contractors involved in work related accidents. The money is donated to help families take care of some household bills immediately after an accident. This is critical since sometimes it takes time for the insurance claims to be processed. ALIFT has assisted a number of families throughout Pennsylvania, and events like the sporting clay shoot help generate income to help keep the charity stay funded. The ALIFT board is made up of certified foresters, logging contractors, sawmill representatives and a CPA. To learn more about ALIFT, please contact us at (570) 836-5825 or at [email protected].
