The Area Agency on Aging for Luzerne-Wyoming counties and the Ethics Institute of Northeastern Pennsylvania at Misericordia University recently hosted the Luzerne-Wyoming Counties Elder Abuse Task Force meeting and reception in the Banks Student Life Center. State Rep. Phyllis Mundy, D-Kingston, was presented the Outstanding Legislator of the Year Award for commitment to senior citizens. Mundy and state Rep. Karen Boback, R-Harveys Lake, secured a $5,000 state grant to help fund the 33-member task force.
