City supports Veterans Day Parade

The Wyoming Valley Veterans Day Parade Committee has received a $2,000 donation from the City of Wilkes-Barre in support of the 2009 Veterans Day Parade, which will get under way at 2 p.m. Sunday at the corner of Rutter Avenue and West Market Street, Kingston, and ends on Public Square in Wilkes-Barre. A World War II plane will fly over the route prior to the parade’s start. The parade committee has selected Col. Charles Carpenter as parade marshal, and Capt. Anthony Batko as reviewing officer. From left with the check are Sam Greenberg, Jewish War Veterans, and Sgt. Raymond Naperkowski, 109th Field Artillery.
