Potato and Cheese Pyrohy Sale orders are due today for the sale at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, 70 Zerby Ave., Edwardsville. Orders cost $6 per dozen and will be available noon-4 p.m. Dec. 7-9 in the church hall. Contact Dorothy, 822-5354, or Ann, 714-3394. Parishioners are asked to help with this fundraiser.

Free Thanksgiving Dinner 4-7 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of Pittston, Water Street, Pittston. Anyone who is homeless or unable to afford a holiday meal is invited. Turkey and all the trimmings and dessert will be served. To attend, call the church office at 654-0283.

Community Lunch Program for White Haven Residents 1 1:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 418 Berwick St., White Haven. This ministry is supported through generous donations. Church membership is not required. Doors open at 10 a.m. for coffee and close at 1:30 p.m. Families are welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers are needed. Fundraiser for the Wilkes-Barre Salvation Army, sponsored by Zebra Communications, 1 1 a.m.-1 a.m. today, Thursday and Monday at T.G.I. Friday’s in Wilkes-Barre. Print special coupons at www.wilkes.edu/zebra. When TGI customers present the coupons to servers 15 percent of each bill will be donated to the Salvation Army’s “Need Knows No Season” campaign. Alcohol purchases are exempt.

Spaghetti and Pasta Dinner 4-6:30 p.m. every Thursday at St. Mary’s Antiochian Orthodox Church, 905 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. A choice of five pastas including whole wheat spaghetti, and seven sauces with chicken or sausage, salad, dessert, and beverages will be sold. Takeouts are available. Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruit from Florida orders will be accepted until Thursday by the Wyoming Area Marching Band. The fruit will be delivered on Dec. 14. Contact any band member or band sponsor.

Thanksgiving Day Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings at noon Thursday at Forty Fort United Methodist Church, corner of Wyoming and Yeager avenues, Forty Fort. There is no charge and transportation for West Side residents will be provided if needed. Anyone who may be alone, lonely or away from family and friends are welcome to attend. Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling the church office at 287-3840 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

35th Annual Naylor-Lemmond Community Thanksgiving Dinner noon Thursday at Firwood United Methodist Church, corner Old River Road and Dagobert Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Methodist Urban Ministries, which is comprised of Central, Albright, Centenary of Ashley, and Firwood united Methodist churches, is sponsoring the dinner named in honor of Benjamin Eli Naylor and former state Sen. Charles D. Lemmond Jr. Everyone is invited free of charge. A free-will offering basket will be available. Transportation will be provided by the Luzerne County Transportation Authority. Thanksgiving Dinner, hosted by Club Jams, a Christian ministry, noon Thursday at 53 S. Main St., Pittston. The turkey dinner will be served to anyone in economic distress. Buffet-Style Harvest Dinner 5-7 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary of Czestochowa Parish Center, 1030 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke. Takeouts served 4-5 p.m. Containers provided. Roast pork, sauerkraut, klopsi (Polish-style hamburger), mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable, applesauce, rolls, dessert, and beverage are on the menu.

Annual Pecan and Specialty Nut Sale conducted by Larksville United Methodist Church ends Sunday. Orders cost $7 each and include 12-ounce roasted, salted pecan halves; 1-ounce roasted, salted jumbo cashews; 12-ounce cinnamon glazed pecans; 12-ounce chocolate covered pecans; and 8-ounce glazed pecans.
