Several King’s College students recently joined the ranks of Wilkes-Barre General Hospital’s Volunteer Services Program to broaden their understanding of health care. All of the students are enrolled in majors pertaining to the medical field. As part of their volunteer duties, they gain access to and an understanding of the fundamental operation of several hospital functions, including the surgical waiting area, information desk and patient and visitor relations. For more information about student volunteer opportunities, call Daria Kochanievich, volunteer coordinator, at 552-1199. Student volunteers from left: Sarah Urick, senior neuroscience and psychology major; Heather Bowman, freshman physician assistant major; and Katherine Hyland, freshman physician assistant major. Absent from photo is Carly Morcum, freshman physician assistant major.
