Misericordia University students recently attended the sixth annual Governor’s Conference for Women at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia. The conference is designed to inform and motivate young women who aim for professional careers. Guest speakers address the importance of college education and topics of money management, networking, managing health and positive thinking. Guest speakers included Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell, financial expert Suze Orman and life coach Marcus Buckingham. The event was sponsored by the James F. Kemper Foundation and Misericordia University’s Women with Children program, student activities, Insalaco Center for Career Development, Campus Ministry dean of students, resident life and the speech-language pathology, communications, nursing and English departments.
