Names in the Military

Airman Andrew D. Smith graduated recently from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is attending tech school for flying crew chief at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas. Smith will graduate on Wednesday and attend tech school and be stationed at McGuire Air Force Base, New Jersey. Smith is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dorr Smith, Ashley, and a 2008 graduate of Triboro Christian Academy.

Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Robert W. Santarelli, son of Marie and Joseph Santarelli of Dallas, recently completed Naval Nuclear Power Training Pipeline with the Nuclear Power Training Unit, Ballston Spa, N.Y. Santarelli received instruction on nuclear theory, chemistry, physics, reactor operations, safety and security and qualified as a Naval nuclear operator. He is a 2006 graduate of Dallas High School and joined the Navy in June 2007.

Navy Seaman Recruit Richard W. Dye, a 2009 graduate of Hazleton Area High School, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. During the eight-week program, Dye completed classroom study and practical instruction on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety.
