Seminary benefit performance set for Sunday

Members of the Wyoming Seminary Performing Arts Department and Wyoming Seminary students will honor a friend and colleague with a special benefit performance of ‘When Words Fail, Music Speaks’ at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Great Hall of Wyoming Seminary, 228 Wyoming Ave., Kingston. The performance is open to the public. A $10 minimum donation is requested at the door. The concert is presented in honor of Donna Cottle, a Seminary colleague and parent, who is battling cancer. Performers include noted area musicians: Sophie Till, violin; Christiane Appenheimer-Vaida, cello; soprano and voice teacher Elizabeth Duhr; the Seminary Madrigal Singers; several instrumental ensembles; and the Seminary Lower School Select Chorus. The musicians will present a variety of classical and contemporary works. The event will include a raffle and a silent auction after the performance. All proceeds will benefit the Cottle family. For more information, or to make contributions to the Cottle family, call Gayle Sekel at 270-2167. From left: Donna Cottle; Josiah Cottle; and the Rev. Drew Cottle, pastor of the Center Moreland and Dymond Hollow United Methodist Churches.
