EDWARDSVILLE: The Edwardsville Senior Center, 57 Russell St., will host a Winter Preparedness Program by the American Red Cross at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
A special dinner including bingo and raffles will take place Thursday in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
Members celebrating birthdays in January will be recognized Friday.
The center will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
EXETER: The Cosmopolitan Seniors will travel to Mount Airy Jan. 21. Non-members are invited.

KINGSTON: The Kingston Senior Citizen Center, 680 Wyoming Ave., will host a presentation by the Senior Network, “You Don’t Need Another Stroke or Heart Attack,” at 10:45 a.m. today.
On Wednesday, Caresite Pharmacy will present “Carb Counting” at 10:30 a.m.
A speaker from the Federal Communications Commission will discuss the digital transition at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. A special dinner in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. will also take place.
The center will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

KINGSTON: The Wilkes-Barre Chapter 342 of NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees) will meet at 1 p.m. Friday at the Black Diamond American Legion, 386 Wyoming Ave.
Pizza and soda will be served.
KINGSTON TWP.: The Kingston Township 55+ Group will meet for a bagged lunch from noon-3 p.m. on Jan. 20 in the lower level of the Kingston Township Municipal Building at 180 Center St. in Shavertown. Parking is available in the rear of the building.
Members are asked to bring board games or a deck of cards. New members are invited.
NANTICOKE: Students from Greater Nanticoke Area School District visited Birchwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in December to spread holiday cheer. The high school and elementary choruses entertained the residents with holiday selections and a performance on separate visits.
On another visit, Boy Scout Troop 418 sang carols and a festive holiday celebration for all the residents and their families was held. Refreshments and performances by several artists, including local piano students, took place.
SCRANTON: The Lifelong Learning Institute Senior Program at Marywood University will hold its spring preview of course offerings from 1-3 p.m. Jan. 31 in the Latour Room (formerly the Crystal Room) in Nazareth Hall. Light refreshments will be served.

SHICKSHINNY: Shickshinny Senior Center, 19 W. Vine St., will have a special dinner in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. on Thursday. Birthdays of the month will be celebrated Friday.
