UHI picnic will mark 50th anniversary

The picnic committee of United Hebrew Institute will host its annual picnic Aug. 9 on school grounds, 1 Institute Lane, Kingston. The picnic’s theme will mark the school’s 50th anniversary. Traditional foods will include chicken, noodle pudding, falafel, corned beef sandwiches, noodles and cabbage, as well as hamburgers, hot dogs, potato pancakes, fries and funnel cakes. A dunk tank, a Kids’ Pavilion, a used book sale and a play by campers from the JCC Day Camp are planned. Geveret Sophie Pernikoff will be honored for her contributions to the event.
