Students from Wilkes-Barre Academy participated in a fund drive at the school for St. Vincent de Paul Kitchen in Wilkes-Barre. The students collected $300 and the class that raised the most money received a pizza party. The project was run by the school’s Leo Club. In addition, $250 was donated by Jim McCarthy’s Tavern on the Hill in Wilkes-Barre in support of the effort.
