Women veterans invited to view film at VA

The Women Veteran’s Program at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center will offer a showing of the documentary ‘The Lioness’ for women veterans and their family and friends from 7-9 p.m. July 21 in the second floor Recreation Room of the medical center, 1 1 1 1 E. End Blvd., Plains Township. The 2008 film offers an unprecedented look at war through the eyes of the first women in United States history to be sent into direct ground combat. Representatives from the following programs will be available after the film: OEF/OIF; Suicide Prevention; Eligibility and Enrollment; and Women Veterans. Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited. Reservations are due Friday by contacting Pat Conroy, Women Veterans Program manager, at 1-877-928-2621, ext. 7517.
