EXETER: At a recent meeting of the Cosmopolitan Seniors, door prizes were awarded to Mary Ann Barasha, Dolores Bubblo, Mary Ann Markowski, Terri Mislan, and Irene Parini. Frank Schall won the bingo jackpot.
FORTY FORT: Retired Public Employees of Pennsylvania chapter 8702 will convene at 2 p.m. Thursday at a new location, the Luzerne County Recreation Building, 2001-09 Wyoming Ave., across from Gerrity’s Market. An informal discussion on the health care program and annual AFSCME retired public employees convention in Harrisburg will be discussed.
Lucille Maziarz, president, invites all members and new members to attend. Refreshments will be served.
KINGSTON: The Kingston Senior Citizen Center, 680 Wyoming Ave., will offer “Maintaining Your Memory” by Millville Health Care at 11 a.m. today. Students from Marywood University will also interview members.
Friday is National Respect Day. Birthdays of the month will also be celebrated.
Active Aging Week will be observed Monday through Sept. 25. Special events are planned.

MOUNTAIN TOP: AARP Driver Safety class will be offered from 12:30-4:45 p.m. Sept. 23 at the Marian Sutherland Kirby Library, 35 Kirby Ave. This four-hour refresher course is open to drivers who have taken the class previously.
A second two-day class is planned from 1-5 p.m. Sept. 26-27 at Mountaintop Presbyterian Church, 9 Chestnut St. This eight-hour class is open to new and returning drivers.
Each course is designed for adults 50 and older and includes group interaction and discussion. Cost is $14 per person, or $12 for AARP members. Students should bring checks payable to AARP, AARP membership cards, pens, and drivers’ licenses. To reserve a space, contact instructor Pat Pisaneschi at 868-6732 or ppisanes@epix.net.
