Mr. and Mrs. Joseph X. Karkut, Dupont, are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming wedding of their daughter, Kristi Amanda Karkut, to Mark Andrew Maros, son of Ms. Ann Maros, Avoca; and Mr. Mark Maros, Old Forge.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Alyce and Donald McAtee, New Jersey; and the late Mary and John Karkut, Dupont.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Carol and Stanley Maros Sr., Scranton; and the late Lucille and Robert Burke, Scranton.

The bride-to-be is a 2006 graduate of Seton Catholic High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from King’s College in 2010 and Master of Science degree in business administration from Wilkes University in 2016. She is employed by the Department of Defense as a federal analyst with Defense Contract Management Agency at Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey.

The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Seton Catholic High School and a 2014 graduate of Delaware County Community College, with a degree in residential carpentry. He is employed as a commercial carpenter and a member of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of American, Local Union #445.

The couple will exchange vows Sept. 1, 2017 at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont, with a formal dinner and reception to follow at the Holiday Inn – East Mountain, Wilkes Barre.
