WILKES-BARRE — Comedians Artie Fletcher and Bob Nelson are bringing The Jokes on You Tour back to NEPA, but this time, they’re bringing Gallagher with them.
You know Gallagher, the guy who rose to fame in part for his live watermelon smashing. The three comedians will cause more laughter, this time, at the F.M. Kirby Center for the Performing Arts. The show is at 8 p.m. Nov. 6 and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. July 31. Kirby member presale begins July 29.
Fletcher may look and sound familiar as he’s made numerous appearances on television, film and commercials. He’s been on “Law and Order,” and various late-night shows including Conan O’Brien, David Letterman and The Tonight Show.
Nelson brings his infamous characters with him, including the lovable nerd Eppy Epperman, punchy boxer Jiffy Jeff and chicken rancher Wilby Stuckinson. Perhaps Nelson is best known for his football routine, recognized as a comedy classic, according to a news release.
Both Nelson and Fletcher recently performed at Mohegan Sun Pocono.
Gallagher will round out the trio. According to a news release, “he literally invented the television and stand-up comedy special.”
He has earned 14 Showtime specials and entertained in 3,500 live shows.
“Gallagher has led an extraordinary life, with an even more spectacular career. His fanbase is one of the most loyal there is, and he rewards them every chance he gets,” read the news release.
Ticket prices range from $45 to $75 and can be purchased at the Kirby box office, online at kirbycenter.org or by phone at 570-826-1100.
