WILKES-BARRE — The F.M. Kirby Center’s Broadway Series added “RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles” to its 2017 event calendar.

“RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles” aims to faithfully recreate the live performances of the Fab Four and give life to the songs written and recorded during the post-touring years of the band.

The show joins F.M. Kirby Center’s existing Broadway Series schedule: Jan. 8’s performance of “Mamma Mia!,” Feb. 1’s performance of “ELVIS LIVES!,” “Annie” on Feb. 23, “STOMP” on March 15 and “42nd Street” on March 29.

Tickets for “RAIN: A Tribute to the Beatles” are available to F.M. Kirby Center members starting 10 a.m. Nov. 8, with a public sale starting 10 a.m. Nov. 10. Purchases can be made by calling 570-826-1100, in person at the 71 Public Square, Wilkes-Barre box office or online at KirbyCenter.org.

“Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles” is the longest-running Beatles tribute act. The band is named after the 1966 Beatles single “Rain,” recorded during the sessions for “Revolver” but not included on the album. “Rain” was released on a 7” record as the B-side to “Paperback Writer.”
