Wilkes-Barre Masonic Lodge 61 has elected Timothy L. McCarthy as its Worshipful Master, the highest office in Masonic Lodges. McCarthy will serve through 201 1. McCarthy is a graduate of GAR Memorial High School and an honors graduate of the Lackawanna College Municipal Police Officers Training Academy. Among his many roles, he served in the United States Army as a communications specialist and with the 365th Engineering Battalion Rifle team. He was a member of the Irem Temple Shriners Legion of Honor. From left, immediate past Worshipful Master Ralph Isely, who celebrated his 50th anniversary in 2009 as worshipful master of Lodge 61, passes the gavel to McCarthy.
