Police investigate shooting of Shickshinny man in Huntington Twp.

HUNTINGTON TWP. - State police in Shickshinny are investigating the shooting of a 29-year-old Shickshinny man early this morning.

Troopers responded to Pinecrest Road at about 4 a.m. for a reported shooting and found the victim, whom they would not identify, with an abdominal wound consistent with a gunshot.

The manner in which the victim was shot remains under investigation. The firearm used is believed to be a .40-caliber pistol, police said.

The victim was transported to Geisinger Medical center in Danville and is listed in fair condition.

Police said the incident should be considered an isolated event and there is no threat to the community.
