HUNLOCK TWP. – A Shickshinny man was arrested by state police Wednesday for allegedly possessing more than 600 child pornography images on a computer and inappropriate contact with a minor.

Nathaniel B. Williams, 31, was charged with 611 counts of possession of child pornography, and one count each of indecent assault and corruption of minors, court records show.

Williams’ wife found suspected child pornography on her Dell computer, which her husband also was using, last October, according to the criminal complaint filed by state police at Shickshinny.

Williams also is accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy.

The incidents occurred between January 2005 and 2007 and on Oct. 16, 2008, police allege.

On Nov. 17, the teen told police he had been inappropriately touched by Williams when he was 11 years old, arrest papers state.

Police did not learn about the incident until the Internet pornography investigation. They said the boy kept quiet about the alleged molestation because Williams warned him not to tell anyone.

A forensic examination of the computer was conducted by the state police computer crime lab. The images were then examined by the Children’s Advocacy Center in Scranton.

Williams was arraigned Wednesday afternoon by District Judge John Hasay, Shickshinny, and jailed at Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 9.
