Mary Ann Menditto engages in a conversation as her 4 -year- old son Steven samples his ice cream at the Abington Community Library's Lunch on the Lawn July 27. The event continues today.

The Abington Community Library hosted a Lunch on the Lawn summer program Tuesday, July 27 which will continue today, Thursday, July 29. Families are invited to pack picnic lunches and join on the library’s side lawn for an outdoor get-together, then head inside for a variety of children’s crafts, a movie “short,” ice cream and other activities.

Participants are asked to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. In the event of rain, indoor activities will be held as scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. but the picnic portion of the program will not be held.

For more images of the day, see the Aug. 1 edition of Go Lackawanna and the Aug. 4 print edition of The Abington Journal.
