WILKES-BARRE - Federal agents arrested eight people, including several suspected gang members, on charges they sold crack cocaine and heroin in the Hazleton area.
The defendants are before U.S. District Judge Malachy Mannion who will determine whether they are released or should remain in custody.
According to an arrest affidavit, the defendants sold narcotics to a confidential informant on numerous occasions between July and September. Authorites also suspect some of the defendants might have participated in a shooting outside the La Cantina restaurant in Hazleton on July 4 that injured two people.
