HAZLETON - A man was arraigned by police on Wednesday on charges he set a fire to a garage after fighting with his girlfriend and her brother on Oct 7.
Richard R. Tiglio, 47, of Freeland, was charged with three counts of arson and one count each of criminal mischief and terroristic threats. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $50,000 bail.
According to the criminal complaint:
Tiglio was fighting with his girlfriend, Kimberly Natt, at her home on Oct. 7. Natt alleged Tiglio pushed her and she told her brother, Steve Natt, who told Tiglio to leave.
Steve Natt said about 10 minutes after telling Tiglio to leave, he noticed flames coming from a detached garage. He further claimed Tiglio left him a voice mail saying, "Burn Baby," and threatened to burn his house with his family inside, the criminal complaint says.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled on Oct. 21 before District Judge Joseph Zola in Hazleton.
