Creekside Trail at Nescopeck State Park, meet at 9 a.m. Oct. 18, at Nescopeck State Park Office at 1137 Honey Hole Road, Drums. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water for this 3.5, somewhat difficult hike. Hike may be cancelled due to inclement weather. When in doubt, please call the Nescopeck State Park Office at 570-403-2006. Following the hike will be a pot-luck lunch at the park office; bring a dish to share.

Hillside Farms hike, an informative hike at The Lands at Hillside Farms, 65 Hillside Road, Shavertown, sponsored by North Branch Land Trust 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 22. Learn the is history of Hillside Farms from a family owned business established in the late 1880s to the current non-profit, historic, and educational The Lands at Hillside Farms. The Lands mission is to teach healthy, practical, and sustainable life choices. Space is limited. Please register online at nblt.org under “Events”, or call the office at 570-310-1781. Hike is $10 for non-members. Please wear sturdy shoes.

Worlds End State Park Hike. Difficult 8 mile hike. Meet at Dallas Shopping Center, Route 309 in Dallas at 9:45 a.m. Oct. 22 and leave at 10 a.m. Bring lunch and water. Leader Tom Barnard 570-388-4060. Sponsored by Susquehanna Trailers Hiking Club.

Golden Hawk Watch at Council Cup Overlook, meet by 10 a.m. Oct. 26 at the park office Nescopeck State Park, Honey Hole Road, Drums, to carpool to hawk watch site. Leave at 10 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. This event is for senior citizens only. Participants should dress for the weather, wear sturdy shoes and bring water and a lunch. Participants should be in good health and able to hike 2 miles over moderate terrain without difficulty. Pre-registration is necessary. Call 570-403-2006.

Salt Springs State Park Hike, moderate 6 mile hike in Susquehanna County. Meet at Dallas Shopping Center, Route 309 in Dallas at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 29 and leave at 11 a.m. Bring lunch and water. Leader Bob Boettger 570-346-8010. Sponsored by Susquehanna Trailers Hiking Club.

Tubs Natural Area, moderate 5 + 3 mile hike. Meet at the Sears Auto Center, Wyoming Valley Mall at 11:45 a.m. Dec. 3 and leave at noon. Bring snack and water. We will all hike the first 5 miles.
