Thanksgiving Dinner, will be offered at noon Nov. 23 at The Forty Fort United Methodist Church, corner of Wyoming and Yeager avenues. ‘The Little Library of Swoyersville’ grand opening celebration, noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Swoyersville Borough Building, 674 Main St., Swoyersville, hosted by Wyoming Valley West student Grace Conner for her Girl Scout Gold Award Project. The celebration will include a book giveaway, coloring activities and refreshments. The Little Library of Swoyersville is a charter member of the Little Free Library organization and will be open year round to all members of the community. Info, 570-817-5096.
Christmas with the Choral Society, will take place at 4 p.m. Nov. 26 in the sanctuary of Covenant Presbyterian Church, corner of Madison and Olive streets, Scranton. Audience caroling will alternate with performances of holiday music by each of the society’s children and youth choirs, their adult Symphonic Chorus, soloists, organist and Dr. Timothy Smith. $15 for adults; $5 for ages 18 and under. Sunday at the Circle, presents the third annual reading of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” Wyoming Valley Art League, 130 rear S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre. 3 p.m. Nov. 26. A $5 donation is suggested. Food and drink will be provided. All ages. Free parking.
Understanding and Working with Adolescents, and all-day workshop presented by Barbara Orr, M.S., will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 at Genetti Hotel & Conference Center, 77 E. Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas, a free showing of the Jim Henson Christmas movie about a poor otter family that risks everything for the chance to win the cash prize of a talent contest. The Miracle of Bethlehem, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1, 2 and 3 at the Cultural Centre of St. Faustina, 38 W. Church St., Nanticoke. The play is free and open to the public and tells the story of the birth of Jesus Christ in narration and song. Donations are appreciated. For additional parking, a shuttle bus service will be provided to the Cultural Centre from the parish parking lot, 520 S.
