Chapter Chairman of National Defense Jane Evans of the Shawnee Fort Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, right, gets her meal from server Brittney Seabrook at a Swetland Homestead fundraiser at Friendly’s Restaurant in Wilkes-Barre on Thursday evening. The DAR chapter, whose mission is historic preservation, education, and patriotism, will hold future benefits in April, May and June and hopes to raise funds to defray the cost of upkeep and maintenance of the homestead on U.S. Route 11 in Wyoming.
