As many families seek summer fun nearer to home this year, the 2009 Pennsylvania Fair Guide makes planning trips to the state’s 116 fairs easier than ever.
“Pennsylvania fairs are an important part of our unique heritage, and attract 6 million visitors each year to amusement rides, entertainment and agriculture,” said state Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff. “Fairs are a family tradition and the fair guide provides easy access to information about fairs throughout the state, helping ensure the tradition of fairs is passed on to the next generation.”
The 2009 fair guide provides information on fairs by region, including their locations and dates. To access it, visit www.agriculture.state.pa.us and click on “Consumers” and then “Pennsylvania Fairs.”
Among the area fairs are Bloomsburg Fair, Sept. 26 to Oct. 3; Kiwanis Wyoming County Fair, Sept. 2-7; Luzerne County Fair, Sept. 9-13; Northeast Fair, June 23-28; West End Fair, Aug. 23-29; Harford, Aug. 17-22.
