FORTY FORT: The Forty Fort United Methodist Church, 26 Yeager Ave., is conducting a new, contemporary worship service from 5-6 p.m. on March 16. The service will be informal and everyone is welcome. New contemporary worship songs and old favorites will be sung. The scripture, sacrament and word of God will also be shared.
LAFLIN: The seventh annual celebration of Divine Mercy Sunday on April 7 in the Pittston area has been relocated from the Oblates of St. Joseph Seminary to St. Maria Goretti Parish, Laflin Road. Principal celebrant is the Rev. Richard Cirba, assistant pastor, St. John the Evangelist Parish, Pittston.
This year’s theme celebrates the 75th anniversary of St. Faustina’s entering into eternal life. Remarks and excerpts from the diary of St. Faustina will be given by Cathy Mack, coordinator of the feast and Cennacle Leader of the Eucharistic Apostles of Divine Mercy, before the service.
Itinerary includes: sacrament of reconciliation with five priests at 1 p.m.; veneration of the image followed by Mass at 2 p.m.; and exposition of the blessed sacrament, chaplet of divine mercy in song, holy rosary, benediction and individual blessing of the first class relic of St. Faustina at 3 p.m.

MOUNTAIN TOP: St. Paul’s Lutheran Church announces the following:
•Lenten services are being held every Wednesday during Lent. There are two services, 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. A potluck luncheon is served after the morning service and desserts are available after the evening service.
•The “Book of Faith” Bible study series will take place at 7 p.m. on Monday. The movie “The Passion of Christ” will be shown, followed by a discussion period.
•The Metropolitan Lutheran Council of Wyoming Valley is supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center during the Lenten season. Donations requested are toothpaste, tooth brushes, disposable razors, shaving cream (3 oz.), after shave lotion (3 oz.), body wash (no bar soap), deodorant, chap stick, small packs of tissues, shampoo (without conditioner) hair brushes, combs and socks. No glass containers. Deadline is March 31.
•Unwanted cell phones are being collected for the Orphan Grain Train. Phones can be deposited in the box on the table by the pastor’s office.
SHAVERTOWN: The Huntsville United Methodist Church, 2355 Huntsville Road, announces the following events:

WEST PITTSTON: The Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 317 Luzerne Ave., announces the following events:
•The Breaking Bread Soup Kitchen is serving free meals from 5-6:30 p.m. on Mondays for individuals and families in the community.
•The Christ Community Clothes Closet will be open from 5-6:30 p.m. on Mondays; 3-5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays; and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays. The closet is closed for weather according to school cancellations. Clothing is offered free to the community. Gently used clothing can be donated at any time in the shed in the church parking lot. •The Men’s Ministry is holding its 10th annual “Beast Feast” Sportsman’s Dinner at 6 p.m. on March 9 in the Church Fellowship Hall. Brent Haggerty, sportsman and hunter from Warren, N.J., will be the guest speaker. He will share his adventures on hunting expeditions in the United States and Africa.
