NANTICOKE — Police said they charged a father and mother with child endangerment for knowing their two sons were sexually molesting a teen girl and not stopping them.

John E. Davis, 43, of West Noble Street, Nanticoke, was charged with a single count of endangering the welfare of children and his wife, Laurie Ann Davis, 35, was charged with two counts of child endangerment.

Nicholas James Molino, 19, who is the biological son of Laurie Davis, was charged with two counts of indecent assault, and Laurie Davis' 16-year-old son was petitioned to Luzerne County Juvenile Court on sex-related offenses.

Police filed the charges against the couple and Molino on Monday. They were arraigned by District Judge Donald Whittaker.

John Davis was released on $20,000 unsecured bail, Laurie Davis was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $25,000 bail, and Molino was jailed at the county prison for lack of $50,000 bail.

According to the criminal complaints:

A teenage girl told police on Jan. 29 that she was sexually assaulted by a 16-year-old boy known to her. She said the boy's parents, John E. Davis and Laurie Ann Davis, knew about the assaults and did nothing to stop the acts.

Laurie Davis allegedly told a child caseworker she found out her son was having sexual relations with the girl about a year ago. She said she admonished her son, telling him: “You're not suppose to do things like that. … You did not even use a condom. What if you got her pregnant?”

The girl said she was last sexually assaulted by Davis' 16-year-old son Jan. 27, two days before reporting the alleged assaults to police.

The Davis' other son, Nicholas Molino, was charged with molesting the same girl inside the West Noble Street home on Sept. 20, the complaint says.

Preliminary hearings are scheduled on March 13.
