(AP) Heather Richardson made it 3-for-3 over friendly rival Brittany Bowe at the U.S. speedskating trials, winning the 1,500 meters Tuesday.

Richardson crossed the line in 1 minute, 54.19 seconds at the Utah Olympic Oval. Bowe was second in 1:54.96, while Jilleanne Rookard claimed the third spot on the Olympic team in 1:57.70.

Richardson and Bowe also went 1-2 in the 500 and 1,000, meaning they will compete in all three events at Sochi. Both are considered leading medal contenders.

Rookard locked up her second Olympic event, having previously qualified with a win in the 3,000.

Theresa Cliff-Ryan dropped out of the 1,500 after being injured the previous day in a training mishap. She sustained a concussion and several broken teeth when struck on the sideline by a crashing skater.
