The bus zone for the County of Lackawanna Transit System (COLTS) will change for the entire day on Saturday, March 9. Additionally, COLTS will offer free rides to all its customers all day on all routes to encourage people to use public transit.

Buses will run on regular Saturday schedule from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Because of the parade route, buses will not pick people up or drop off in the 100 block of Wyoming Avenue during the parade. For the entire day, the bus pick-up and drop-off point will be the 100 block of Franklin Avenue.

This is subject to change if there are any last-minute changes in the parade staging areas.

“We are encouraging people to use public transit on Saturday as they participate in the day’s festivities,” said Executive Director Bob Fiume. “We want it to be a safe day for everyone.”

“COLTS also wishes to encourage people who may not previously have considered public transit as an option for getting to the parade,” Mr. Fiume added. “Riding a bus will alleviate any headaches of finding parking near the parade route, as this is such a busy day for the City of Scranton.”
