WILKES-BARRE — City police arrested a man they allege assaulted an off-duty police officer.

Charles P. Baldrica, 31, of Oliver Street, Wilkes-Barre, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. He was jailed at the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for lack of $10,000 bail.

According to the criminal complaint:

Officer Marc Labar, who was off duty, called for police assistance at his residence on Tuesday, stating Baldrica was on his front porch and had attempted to throw a glider through a window.

Labar told Baldrica to leave.

Baldrica refused, telling Labar: “Just remember, I know where you live, (expletive). I’m going to (expletive) you up,” the complaint says.

Baldrica charged at Labar, starting a fight. Blood from Baldrica spattered onto Labar and his clothing, which had to be destroyed.

Baldrica was apprehended when a city detective and a patrol officer arrived to help Labar.

Amanda Regan told police that Baldrica, her boyfriend, was up all night destroying furniture and items in their apartment. She said Baldrica punched her in the face and she ran for help, according to the complaint.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled on March 14.
