WILKES-BARRE — The city will hold a free curbside collection of old tires next week for residents.

The collection will run from June 19-23 and coincide with the scheduled garbage pickup dates. It’s sponsored by the Wilkes-Barre City Health Department to eliminate breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Businesses are not included.

The types of tires to be picked up are:

• Automobile

• SUV

• Light pickup truck

• Motorcycle.

Residents can direct questions about the tire collection to the Health Department at 570-208-4268.
