LUZERNE — A woman is facing charges after police say she assaulted a man and fought with and kicked an officer Friday.

Luzerne Borough Police say Carol Daubert, 50, of Wyoming, was shocked with a stun gun after she assaulted William Fox near Heffron’s Mini Mart on Union Street, then physically fought with Officer Alexandra Simonitis.

Police say they were called to Heffron’s at approximately 6:35 p.m.

When officers arrived, they were flagged down by Fox. Officer Simonitis observed blood on his ear, authorities report.

Daubert and Fox then began arguing, with Daubert disobeying all police orders, according to a report. When the suspect allegedly began to fight with Simonitis, the officer took Daubert to the ground. Police say Daubert kicked Simonitis several times.

Simonitis deployed her stun gun to subdue Daubert.

Both Daubert and Simonitis were taken to Wilkes-Barre General Hospital for an evaluation, with Simonitis suffering minor injuries.

Daubert was transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for overnight arraignment. She was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
