HAZLETON — Police are searching for a suspect allegedly involved in an attempted robbery last month on First and Carson streets.

Roberto Lora Pena and three other individuals attempted to rob two males delivering newspapers shortly before 3 a.m. Sept. 15, police report.

One of the unknown suspects was carrying a firearm at the time of the incident, according to authorities.

Pena, along with his accomplices, are considered “armed and dangerous,” police say.

Pena has been charged with two felonies — robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. Anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. William Gallagher at 570-459-4942. Tipsters can also leave information anonymously at www.hazletonpolice.com, or by texting mytips to 274637.
