WILKES-BARRE — After failing to appear for her sentencing on Friday, the Nanticoke woman who pleaded guilty to shoving a young girl in a surveillance video that went viral is back in custody.

Sentencing was also rescheduled to Tuesday.

A bench warrant was issued for Marlanea Uravage, 30, after she failed to appear for the Friday sentencing. Uravage was arrested over the weekend.

During the video hearing with Luzerne County Judge David Lupas, Uravage tearfully explained she had completely forgotten about the sentencing — and was in fact in the courthouse during it.

“I don’t know where my kids are,” Uravage explained through sobs.

Uravage claims she was in the prothonotary’s office in the courthouse printing out custody paperwork, then going to the school her children attend to attempt to make contact with them, but she said she was unable to do so.

She said she has primary custody over the children, but they are with their father who is not letting her see them.

Lupas, though, said these were issues that would need to be handled in custody court.

Lupas lifted the warrant for Uravage, but revoked her bail ahead of her sentencing at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Uravage, pleaded guilty to simple assault Oct. 11, admitting she shoved 12-year-old Presley Keeney to the ground May 28 outside of a convenience store in Wilkes-Barre.

Police say the incident occurred outside the Quick Stop on state Route 309 across from Home Depot.

In surveillance camera footage that went viral after the incident, Uravage can be seen shoving Keeney to the ground, causing her to almost strike her head on the door of the store.

Uravage pushed Keeny after a man approached the girl and asked her for something to eat from her bag of snacks. Footage also showed Uravage pushing the man before fleeing on foot.

Uravage was arrested in Nanticoke more than two weeks after the incident with the assistance of U.S. Marshals. She then made bail on Aug. 2.

Lupas scheduled the sentencing for Tuesday to ensure the young victim and her mother would have a chance to speak.

Chere Fuller, Keeney’s mother, said previously Uravage’s attack on Keeney has left a lasting impact on the girl, making her uncomfortable around people.

“She has no remorse; she’s a monster,” Fuller said after Uravage failed to appear Friday. “I just want it done and over with already.”
