Hazleton man accused of sex assault on another man

HAZLETON — Police have arrested a man for an alleged sex assault on a younger man.

According to Hazleton Chief Jerry Speziale:

Officers responded to Lehigh Valley Hospital — Hazleton to investigate after a 22-year-old sought treatment for injuries suffered during the assault.

The victim told police he was sexually assaulted by Julio Angel Cuevas, 50, of Hazleton.

Officers later executed a search warrant at 130 E. Maple St. and found Cuevas inside the residence.

He was taken into custody and was transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for an overnight arraignment.

Cuevas is charged with two felony counts of deviate sexual intercourse.
