HAZLETON — A Hazleton man out on bail for drug trafficking offenses allegedly sold bricks of heroin laced with fentanyl and other substances.

Alexander Ruiz Mora, of South Laurel Street, was arraigned Thursday in Luzerne County Central Court on two counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of communication facility. He was locked up for lack of $40,000 bail on the latest charges.

According to a criminal complaint:

State Police, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and Weatherly police set up a sting to buy heroin from Ruiz Mora.

He sold two bricks totaling 100 packets in the area of Fifth and Lincoln streets, and three bricks totaling 150 packets in the area of 127 S. Laurel St.

Ruiz Mora used a cellphone to set up the sales.

The heroin, which was analyzed, was laced with fentanyl, procaine, caffeine and quinine.
