A man wanted for the death of a 3-year-old Berwick girl last month was captured in Florida on Thursday, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.

Michael Crimi, 19, was picked up in Port Orange, Fla., on an arrest warrant obtained by Berwick police charging him with criminal homicide, aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane stated in a news release.

Isabella Brown was rushed to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville on Nov. 25 after she was found unresponsive with visible head and other injuries, according to authorities.

The girl died three days later on Nov. 28, according to Berwick Police Chief Ken Strish.

Pane said information led investigators to believe Crimi recently traveled to Florida, where he was apprehended without incident.

Crimi was turned over to Florida authorities, and Chief Strish says extradition proceedings are underway to return him to Columbia County to face prosecution.
